Introduction to the Board

The Uttarakhand Institute of Open Schooling Dehradun Uttarakhand, was established  and is registered under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, bearing Registration Number 2078. Its primary objective is to establish open schooling across India and to provide education ranging from Class 1 to Class 12, to disadvantaged groups such as Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Socially and Educationally Backward Classes, and other socially, culturally, economically, or geographically vulnerable sections of society, as specified or notified by the appropriate government. Furthermore, it aims to provide education to Backward Classes, General Categories, and economically weaker sections of society who, due to financial constraints, are unable to pursue their studies, specifically those who, under normal circumstances, would be unable to access secondary and senior secondary education. It is the absolute duty of our Board to support and facilitate education for students residing in remote, mountainous regions who are unable to pursue their studies due to a lack of financial resources.

Board Authorities:

The following shall constitute the authorities of the Board:

(a) The General Assembly
(b) The Governing Body
(c) The Executive Committee
(d) The Academic Committee
(e) The Finance Committee
(f) The Research Committee
(g) The School/Academic Center Development Committee
(h) The Online Education Committee
(i) Any other authorities that may be declared as authorities of the Board by the Statutes.

The objective of this Board is to provide education from Class 1 to Class 12 to the disadvantaged sections of society; indeed, facilitating education for these vulnerable groups constitutes the absolute duty and core objective of this Board.
